Audition Info

Auditions are November 30 for grades K-3 and December 1 for grades 4-6. Callbacks will be December 8 and are by invitation only.

Everyone is required to audition for the show. If your child feels nervous about auditioning, he/she can audition in a group. If your child auditions in a group (including singing to a track with singers on the track), he or she will not be eligible for a main or speaking part.

You will sign up for an audition time at one of the parent meetings.

GROUP AUDITIONS

Those auditioning in a group will not be considered for a main part. Groups will all sing the same song at the same time. Decide on the song before you come in to sing together. It can be as simple as "Happy Birthday."

There will be no line-reading in group auditions. Do not sign up for a group audition if you do not want to sing with the other people in the group or if you do want to be considered for a main part.

AUDITION MATERIALS and HELPS

Here is a link to all of the audition songs on Google Drive.  For each song, there is a rehearsal track (the one labeled with "GUIDE") and a track with just the score. You will audition to the track with just the score.

To know which song to listen to for the character you want to audition for, click on the Audition Central tab on this page. It will tell you the list of characters, which song to prepare for that character, and the lines to prepare for that character. Next to the character you would like to audition for, click in the "Score" column. It will show you the title of the song for your desired character.

You can then choose that title in this group of files on Google Drive. Included in this group are two tracks per song. One has the singers with it and one does not. At auditions, you will try out with the track that does not have singers with it. That does not have any singers in it, so be sure to practice with that file, also.

If your child does not have a song prepared for auditions, that is okay! We will have your child sing "Happy Birthday."
